I`m still impressed how Žanete and Mārtiņš with their loved ones transformed a functional barn into a magical fairy-light filled place for celebrations!
I`ve been shooting weddings in many different places in Latvia - but never in Valka. I packed my gear and went to the bus station to be on my way to Žanete and Mārtiņš. When I arrived, the day went by very calmly. The ceremony was held in a small church, where my most favourite detail was quote above the entrance: “For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace;”! I always try to remind my wedding couples that it is important to find a way to have a moment for just the two of you on your wedding day, to talk about your emotions and just have a moment of peace to reflect (for Žanete and Mārtiņš there was a surprise from their best-man and bridesmaid - a peaceful boat ride). I`m still impressed how Žanete and Mārtiņš with their loved ones transformed a functional barn into a magical fairy-light filled place for celebrations… as I heard, not long after the wedding the barn was back to the functional form.
